ANY INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ACUPUNCTURE AND MEDICATIONS?

Generally, there are no any conflicts between acupuncture and medications taken by the patients. Acupuncture, as an external therapy, can be combined with conventional internal therapies including medications, vitamins or nutritional supplements to enhance therapeutic or preventive outcomes. In additions, acupuncture may be applied to help quitting certain drugs with side effects. With the appearance of remarkable effects of acupuncture, existing medication may be cut dose gradually until a complete withdrawal.

For patients with a tendency of hemorrhage or taking Aspirin, acupuncture is still applicable, but a prolonged local pressing to stop bleeding after withdrawal of needles may be required.
