B.J. S.

former Major League Baseball player who played for Milwaukee Brewers,  Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles in 15 years. B.J. was the ’85 ACC Male Athlete of the Year, and played on the ’84 Olympic baseball team for USA. Selected by the Brewers with the first pick of the ’85 amateur draft, B.J. was defined as a very versatile player, having appeared at every position except pitcher and produced over 2,326 hits and 1,153 RBIs in his career. Always a consistent hitter, having hit over .280 in 12 of his 19 seasons, B.J.’s finest season was ’99, in which he led the American League in at-bats (673), 2nd in hits (207) and was an American League All-Star.
