Transcript: The forms of Qigong vary but it mainly involves
three aspects of training: regulation of the body, regulation of the
breath, and regulation of the mind. They are the three key elements
for any type of Qigong exercises. Unless there is a close combination
and coordination of them, the exercise of Qigong will not be fruitful.
The popular Tai-Chi Chuan is a typical example to combine these three
elements into one. However, for different forms of Qigong, there may
be different extents of emphasis on these three elements. For example,
Fragrance Qigong requires less attention on the regulation of the
breath and the mind, so that is easier to learn for most elders and
become extensively practiced in China. The eight-section of brocade
Qigong pays more attention on the regulation of the body; namely, it
needs more muscular movements or stretches.
